If you’ve ever sewn a pair of trousers and thought:
“Why are they pulling there?” or “Is it the rise?” or "why is this pouch here?"
You’re not alone.

Trouser fitting has a reputation for being complicated, technical and slightly intimidating.
Most people either avoid it… or keep making adjustments without really knowing why.
This workshop is here to help.
I’ve teamed up with William Gee to bring you a focused, hands-on day dedicated entirely to understanding how trousers function on the body, and how to make them fit you.
This isn’t about random pinning.
It’s about understanding what you’re seeing and knowing exactly what to do next.
Date: 22nd March 2026
Time: 10:00–16:00
Class size: Maximum 6
Location: William Gee, 2a Forest Road, London E8 3BY

By the end of the day, you will:
• Understand how trousers hang and balance on the body
• Recognise what common fitting issues are really telling you
• Know how rise height, rise width and rise shaping interact
• Confidently analyse your own toile
• Test adjustments directly on the garment
• Transfer changes back to your pattern accurately
• You’ll leave not just with a better fitting trouser pattern, but with a framework you can reuse again and again.
Confident beginners who:
• Have sewn trousers before, but couldn't get the fit quite right
• Want to understand fitting, not just follow instructions
• Are ready to stop guessing how to fix trouser fitting issues
• Your stitched trouser toile (ready to fit)
• Your trouser pattern
• A notebook
• Pattern cutting & fitting tools
• Calico, pins and tape
• Janome sewing machines and accessories
